The Inspiration
The new Chantecaille 2020 summer makeup collection Vibrant Ocean was inspired by the beauty of the crystal clear waters of the ocean and its majestic giant inhabitants – the whale sharks and manta rays. In the summer of 2019 Sylvie Chantecaille was invited by WildAid to experience the beauty of the whale sharks up close.
Sylvie Chantecaille says: “I always wanted to swim with them (whale sharks). It was one of my great dreams to be able to be near one one day, and to be surrounded by 300 was an extraordinary experience…”
By creating the Vibrant Ocean collection Chantecaille want to raise awareness about whale sharks and manta ray and to support the work of WildAid and their fight to stop the illegal wildlife trade.
Chantecaille 2020 Summer makeup collection. Radiance Chic Cheek and Highlight Duo (6g .21oz)
The new Chantecaille 2020 summer collection features two Radiance Chic Cheek and Highlight Duos. One is in Rose (recommended for paler skin tones) and the other one in coral (medium to deep skin tones). I’ve chosen the rose because I like the innocent pink blush that matches perfectly my pale skin tone. Subscribe to my YouTube channel to see how the products that I review apply on my skin.
The Duos contain a very smooth powder blush and a highlighter shade. Chantecaille 2020 summer makeup collection features two cheek palettes:
Radiance Chic Cheek and Highlight Duo in Rose: pink blush and light gold highlighter (Whale shark on the packaging)
Radiance Chic Cheek and Highlight Duo in Coral: Coral blush and soft peachy highlighter (manta ray on the packaging)
The blush has a gel to powder formula which looks beautiful on the skin. I recommend using a dense brush to pick up the product because it’s quite firm. The blush looks very natural and beautiful on the skin. In my opinion it’s suitable for all skin types and tones. It looks very youthful because the formulation is gel to powder and doesn’t look powdery on the skin. The highlighter is finely milled and looks quite natural if applied lightly. You can easily build up the highlighter to get a very intense look. On my skin the highlighter looks a bit yellow/gold so I like to be light handed, otherwise it looks unnatural and too yellow. Both the highlighter and the blush are very long lasting.
I love using the highlighter on my eyes. It gives a very beautiful golden sheen.
Chantecaille Lip Tint Hydrating Balms
The Vibrant Ocean Collection by Chantecaille features four Lip Tint Hydrating Balms. They feel very moisturizing and add a hint of color. The four shades are:
Beach Rose – sheer pink
Calendula – sheer orange
Madeira – sheer red
Verbena – sheer plum
I’ve chosen Beach Rose and I love the soft pink color that it gives to my lips. The packaging is very sleek. Each Lip tint contains 1g of product .03 oz.
FINAL THOUGHTS AND OVERALL ASESSMENT:
The new Chantecaille 2020 summer makeup collection Vibrant ocean is beautiful. I love the formulation of the blush. It’s quite extraordinary. One little downside of the palette is that the highlighter is a bit loose and as I started using it I noticed that I have to be careful; otherwise it might easily get dislocated. I suppose this might be a problem with my palette in particular. Overall I’m very happy with the quality of this palette.
The lip tint feels very moisturizing and I like the hint of color that it gives to my lips. However, keep in mind that you only get 1g .03oz of product. Chantecaille is a luxury brand so if the price is not an issue I would absolutely recommend getting at least one of the lip tints. However, if you need to save some money I would recommend getting one of Chantecaille’s Lip Chic’s instead. They also feel quite moisturizing; the color is more intense – like a sheer lipstick and you get 2g .07oz of product
